LITTLEHAMPTON is set to come alive with cultural delights all this month, following the launch of an arts festival in the town.

The event is being staged to showcase the town’s impressive depth of artistic and musical talent, through an array of music gigs, exhibitions and workshops.

Shops, pubs, cafés and other venues, across the town, including the Windmill Entertainment Centre and a beach hut, are hosting events during the festival, which is being funded by Inspire Leisure’s Arts in Action Network and Littlehampton Town Council.

As for the beach hut, number 18, on the seafront opposite Norfolk Gardens, it will be open most days for displays of artwork, crafts and jewellery, as well as hosting a drawing workshop.

Duncan Thrussell, Arts in Action co-ordinator and organiser of the festival, said: “Art isn’t just about drawings and paintings. It’s also about expressing your feelings and emotions in other ways. This could be through photography, dance, music, comedy or even knitting.

“The Arts and Music Festival includes workshops for children and adults some of which include – making musical equipment from rubbish, learn mixing skills through digital mixing equipment or even learn wall art. There are visual art exhibitions, photography workshops, family fun days and plenty of music gigs to choose from.”
