Medieval family fun aplenty this weekend in Rustington

Living history group Raven Tor will be teaming up with Rustington-based Hawking About – which specialises in energetic birds of prey displays – to bring villagers a weekend of excitement.

Entitled the Summer Weekender, the event will launch today (Saturday, September 8) and continue until tomorrow at The Windmill Inn, in Mill Lane.

Expect plenty of family fun to be had during the two-day bonanza.

From hand-to-hand combat displays by the mediaeval knights of Raven Tor, to an up-close-and-personal talk about birds of prey from the staff at Hawking About.

There will also be a bouncy castle as well as a barbecue at the pub, in the afternoon.

Kevin Lochner, of Hawking About, said: “This is going to be a brilliant event. We will have people dressed as pirates and knights on both days. We just wanted to try and raise the publicity of the pub.

“So, fingers crossed, plenty of people will turn up.”
