Spokeswoman Pandora George said: “The Museum of Ordinary People (MOOP) is a pop-up museum that celebrates the ripples people leave behind, telling hidden stories using everyday objects, exploring and documenting everyday life.

“Reflections goes on show as part of the month-long Newhaven Festival.

“Members of the public will be given an art map taking them on an open-air trail through the town, past landmarks and shops.

“Along the trail they will encounter story tellers, shop front exhibits and displays in residents’ windows, which will provide a snapshot of unique lives and an insight into the history and heritage on their doorstep.”

Meeching Woman’s Institute and Hillcrest Community Centre are some of the organisations taking part in the project.

The trail, which starts outside The Bridge Inn, will go along Meeching Road, South Road and Fort Road and residents in these roads are being invited to decorate their front windows and display exhibits that tell their own stories.

Lucy Malone, MOOP co-founder, added: “We are really excited about the wealth of stories of that the people of Newhaven are bringing forward for Reflections.”

Rhoda Funnell, from Newhaven Festival, said: “We are extremely excited to be hosting a MOOP event in Newhaven.

“We are pleased we’ve found an innovative way of being able to do this, even in the face of all the current adversities.”

The event runs 11am-5pm. Website: http://museumofordinarypeople.com
