Orchestra's dream concert

One of choral music's greatest works is Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra's choice for its concert on Sunday April 24 at 7.30pm in St Saviour's Church.

Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius will be performed by some 80 voices and the full symphony orchestra. The singers, comprising the ESO chorus, the Eastbournian Society Chorus and the Renaissance Singers have been practising since January, and the players have three rehearsals before the dress rehearsal with the singers on concert day. ESO’s conductor Graham Jones and leader Lisa Wigmore will welcome soloists Susan Legg (alto), Andrew Mackenzie-Wicks (tenor) and Jozik Kotz (bass). Tickets (£14 in advance; £15 on the door) are available from [email protected] (01323 452255) or from Reid and Dean, 43–45 Cornfield Road, BN21 4QG.
