Queen hits and jazz funk oddities in East Grinstead

Friday, April 8 (7.30pm) sees the arrival of The Bohemians for a comprehensive re-enactment of Queen’s greatest hits.

Spokeswoman Alex Lynch-White said: “Internationally-renowned Queen tribute band The Bohemians take you on a high-energy rollercoaster ride of a concert, featuring the back catalogue of one of the world’s most popular and iconic rock acts of all time.

“So many fabulous hits to be covered, but they’re all here, from the early piano and harmony-heavy masterpieces to the later, catchy pop of the ’80s and rock anthems of the early ’90s.

“Whether it’s ‘Killer Queen’, ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’ or ‘The Show Must Go On’, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ or ‘We Will Rock You’, The Bohemians will have you on your feet, singing, dancing and clapping along in a truly memorable live re-enactment of the world’s greatest rock band.”

Next up, on Saturday, April 9 (7.30pm), is jazz-funk band Shakatak.

Alex said: “Shakatak have enjoyed a level of success and career longevity rarely paralleled in contemporary music, but then Shakatak is a particularly-unusual group. Because of the nature of their music, their fan base is one that is far reaching while always retaining an underground element.

“After a number of successful top-20 singles in the UK, the band went on to score unprecedented international success with the release of the classic Nightbirds. This success was repeated with the top-ten hit Down on the Street.”
