Director of The Spring, Sophie Fullerlove said: “The story has a festive setting, with Grinter the giant living alone and surrounded by a snowy garden and frost-covered walls. She has turned away from the world, but when local children find a way into her garden, everyone’s lives are changed forever. This heart-warming tale is brought to life with beautiful storytelling, captivating puppetry and enchanting music.”

Tickets for the Christmas show are £10, with six performances between December 21 and 23, including a performance that will be BSL interpreted. The family show is ideal for children aged three to ten.

“The Spring has introduced significant measures to ensure that it is safe for visitors to return to the centre so families can enjoy the festive wonder of live theatre over the Christmas period. As well as the enchanting live performances, a family ticket costing just £4 will be available for those who prefer to watch a specially-recorded performance from the comfort of their homes.”

Sophie added: “We are thrilled to be bringing The Selfish Giant to The Spring, keeping up the tradition of magical theatre for all the family at Christmas time. It’s been a challenging year, but the whole team is happy to be back doing what we love, bringing shows for all ages to audiences in Havant.

“We’re aware that even with our safety measures in place, some people may be wary of attending a theatre or may still be shielding in December, so we’re particularly thrilled that alongside the live performances, we can offer a virtual performance at an affordable price so that as many families as possible can enjoy such a heart-warming story this Christmas.”
