Dave grew up in the 1960s and 70s surrounded by the active folk scene of Northern Virginia and Washington DC and, as a nine year old prodigy, performed with folk legend Libba Cotten (Freight Train).

Dave went on to earn a PhD in Philosophy and slowly built a grassroots following touring all over the USA and Canada, recording several solo albums and picking up a number of song writing awards. Over recent years, he has become best known as the esteemed sideman of Al Stewart, who is best known for the classic Year Of The Cat, thrilling audiences with his incredible lead guitar playing and playful banter. He wowed an audience at the Congress Theatre last year when the pair played together.

This tour coincides with the release of a new CD, Spinoza’s Dream, a philosophically themed collection of songs featuring stellar musicians, all of whom played on some of Al Stewart’s classic albums, plus Al himself.

As a live performer, his style has been described as “somewhere between the easy charm of Arlo Guthrie and the raw energy of Bruce Springsteen”, and all are welcome to the event.

The doors open at 7.30pm and admission is £7 on the door with students and under 16s half price. The number for any enquiries is 728268.
