“Some of the poetry featured in this collection has been written in my teenage years and contains an array of thoughts and feelings about love, anxiety, grief and fury in rhyme as I begin to discover through to adulthood the true depths of heartache.

“This collection is based on experiences and genuine feelings over differing time periods. I feel this book will resonate and appeal to many readers.

“Readers will be able immerse themselves in heartfelt resonating poetry that is full of strong and beautiful imagery.

“I believe that life is all about truths, love and loss, and this book will remind people, that everyone at some point in their lives will go through heartbreak in many different forms and that they are not alone.

“I’ve kept my poetry hidden for many years. I’ve always written poems from a very young age, but it wasn’t until I was in secondary school (I studied at Littlehampton Community school) that I allowed myself to get drawn into the depths of it.

“I found it was a good emotional release and that’s what has inspired me to finish this collection because the poems featured at the beginning of the collection are poems I wrote as a teenager, which end with my recent poetry and how my life has evolved.

“I have been furloughed since the very first lockdown was introduced which has meant that I have been able to spend quality time with my two young sons.

“The current pandemic has allowed me to seize an opportunity to try and pursue my dreams of a writing career so I started off uploading some poetry onto Instagram with only a small following and since then I haven’t looked back, with some of my poems being published in magazines, anthologies and even my work being featured and read around the world.

“The Instagram community have encouraged me to publish my work and share with others so that other people can be inspired to follow their dreams too because no matter your situation you can always make the time to fulfil your ambitions and that’s what I have done.

“The book is aimed at all readers who share a love of words that hold depth, power and meaning.”

Tara has previously written Queenie Corona and The Ten Little Prints, a children’s illustrated book on coronavirus.

“I also have an upcoming fictional sequel due to be published later on in the year called Sworn to Surrogacy. I am also currently working on another poetry collection that will feature poems written during the pandemic. This will also be published later on in the year.

“I have written ever since I can remember. It started off with short stories that have evolved to poetry and longer novels. I write because it’s my passion and for me it’s also an emotional release.”
