The Riot Club
The Riot Club

The film that’s getting all the attention this week is The Riot Club.

A gaggle of top-class young acting talent has been assembled for this tale of first-year students arriving at Oxford University and hoping to join the infamous club.

Being a member is very prestigious but reputations can be made and destroyed in a single evening.

Notable stars from well-known acting families are are Max Irons and Freddie Fox.

Colin Firth stars in Magic In The Moonlight (12A) which went down well at the recent Chichester Film Festival.

In this romantic comedy from Woody Allen, Firth is a magician who reveals fraudulent spiritualists.

However, when he meets Sophie (Emma Stone) his beliefs are tested.

Liam Neeson has been out and about heavily promoting his latest movie, A Walk Among The Tombstones (15).

Although he plays a private investigator, his role is more subdued than recent roles.

His task in this film is to find out who murdered a drug baron’s wife.

If you can track 20,000 Days On Earth (15) at a screen it could be an interesting experience.

Writer and musician Nick Cave celebrates his 20,000th day on Earth by making this film.

Kylie Minogue and Ray Winstone join in the experience.

Grand Piano (15) has a familiar theme but with an interesting twist.

A concert pianist, moments before a comeback performance, discovers a very worrying note written on his music sheet.

The familiar theme is Phone Booth but in a concert hall.

Elijah Wood and John Cusack star.
