Behind the scenes at Brighton

THEATRE Royal Brighton is opening for Saturday morning public tours.

This is your opportunity to go behind the scenes of the beautiful, grade II listed theatre and see the areas you would not normally see as an audience member.

Backstage tours include a fascinating insight into the history, redevelopment and present day workings of Theatre Royal Brighton.

Explore the areas backstage, sit in the Royal Box, see the infamous "gulp bar" used by Laurence Olivier and tour the unusual backstage area constructed from fisherman's cottages; you might even catch a glimpse of the resident theatre ghost.

Theatre Royal Brighton is a fully working theatre and each tour is a unique, fascinating experience.

The list of those who have trodden the boards is long and illustrious, that list could now include you!

Theatre Royal Brighton tours will start on March 1 and take place every Saturday at 11am, lasting approximately 45 minutess.

Tickets cost 7.50 and are available from the Theatre Royal Brighton box office on 08700 606650 or in person at the venue.

Tour tickets include a free tea or coffee after your tour. Booking in advance is not essential but will guarantee your place.
