The winners were announced following an online poll of six thousand comedy fans, from a shortlist chosen by independent industry experts.

“A big thank you has to go to our amazing comedy audience who support us year-round, Stephen Grant and the Krater Comedy Club, and the hundreds of acts we have every year.

“Thanks also to our team here at Komedia and of course everyone who voted for us, we couldn’t have done it without you.”

This is the third time Bent Double has bagged the ‘Best Club’ award. Zoe Lyons started the night over ten years ago and has seen it grow to be one of the most successful the venue runs.

Zoe said: “I’m absolutely delighted that Bent Double has once again been voted best club night in the South.

“The night’s success is due to the continued loyalty of the “up for it” crowds who come along each month, the acts who thrive in the atmosphere and the fabulous staff at Komedia.”

The annual awards, now in their sixteenth year, took place on Monday (March 20) at Up the Creek Comedy Club in London, hosted by Clive Anderson.

Other winners included Komedia favourite Romesh Ranganathan, Fleabag and I’m A Celebrity’s Joel Dommett.
