Festival show for American singer-songwriter Ezra Furman

Once described as everyone’s favourite bisexual, Jewish, depressive, gender non-conforming rock star, this engaging performer produces intense and dramatic music which is full of brilliant hooks.

Described as literate garage-punk (think Jonathan Richman meets Spector-era Ramones meets the E Street Band, with a good splash of The Velvet Underground), and confessional lyrics about sexuality, depression, faith and politics, have all earned him a legion of followers on both sides of the Atlantic.

Back with his newly re-christened band The Visions, and hot on the heels of the release of latest album Transangelic Exodus.

He described the longplayer as :“Not a concept record, but almost a novel, or a cluster of stories on a theme, a combination of fiction and a half-true memoir.

“A personal companion for a paranoid road trip. A queer outlaw saga.”

Support on the night comes from Du Blonde, AKA Beth Jeans Houghton, a multidisciplinary artist and musician, and London-based American country act Honey Harper.
