The Fishermen’s Club, Christ Church Seaside, and Leaf Hall, Seaside, will all be hosting gigs throughout the day. The venues are within easy walking distance of each other, and with a ‘stroller ticket’ festival-goers are encouraged to dip in and out of gigs to hear as wide a variety as possible throughout the day. Alternatively, single gig tickets are available on the day.

Eastbourne’s East of the Pier has a fascinating story to tell, one that includes smuggling, the fishing industry and pioneering businessmen. It is also home to the Devonshire Collective.

“We see this as just the place to host a vibrant cultural event like a jazz festival,” said programme director Annette Keen; “We’ve been careful to select bands which reflect the diversity of jazz including Latin, gypsy, contemporary, funk and swing.”

In addition to the main Festival programme, Leaf Hall will feature an exhibition by jazz photographer Brian O’Connor, and Jazz Lunches will be on offer at the Langham Hotel and the Sovereign Yacht Club. The Festival is supporting Sussex children’s charity Chestnut Tree House.

Headliners include Roger Beaujolais, Alex Garnett, Hexagonal (featuring Jason Yarde), Craig Milverton, Mark Nightingale, Sara Oschlag, Andy Panayi, Art Themen and many more.

Stroller tickets (£50) are available in advance at any Splash Point Jazz Club gigs (see www.splashpointjazz.club), via WeGotTickets.com, or from Eastbourne’s Tourist Information Office. Also available on the day from the three venues. Single gig tickets (only available on the day) are available at the appropriate venue. More information and artist details on the website.
