Celebrating 25 years, the Blunter Brothers return to Clair Hall, Haywards Heath, on Saturday, June 7, for a night of classic funk and soul with a very special guest, Mr Pee Wee Ellis.

Pee Wee Ellis was James Brown’s musical director and sax player in the late ’60s and co-writer of such classic tunes as Cold Sweat, I Got The Feelin’, Lickin’ Stick and many more.

Tickets are £17 and available from the Clair Hall box office direct in Perrymount Road, Haywards Heath. Call the box office on 01444 455440 or visit

There is a £2 credit card charge if you book online. Doors open at 7.30pm and the performance starts at 8pm.

The Blunter Brothers started playing live in 1989 and the outfit is now one of the premiere ‘Revue’ acts in the country. The band covers all the hits from artists such as James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Curtis Mayfield, The Average White Band and many more.

Dave Baxter, manager of the Blunter Brothers, said: “The band is really looking forward to playing with Pee Wee. It’s a great honour. We know that there are lots of funky people in Sussex and this is a rare opportunity to see an old school band playing classic funk with one of the originators of the genre”.
