Four local bands are joining forces on Sunday, August 5, and playing for free at a music night at the Six Bells, Chiddingly in aid of Help for Heroes and St Wilfrid’s Hospice.
The event starts at 5pm and will run until around 10pm. Entry free - a hat will be passed round for donations.
The bands are: Mark My Words - a four-piece teenage band from Hailsham playing mostly original music. Singer Miranda Read, supported by musicians Sam & Josh Headey, and Ollie Robinson-Sivyer. Refreshingly non-Simon-Cowell.
4 Blind Nuns - a four-piece covers band, also from Hailsham. Singer Kim Friend (massive undiscovered voice spotted singing in the Grenadier), bass Phil Headey, drums Josh Headey, guitar Martin Headey
Susie’s Scandal - another Hailsham band playing mostly original music from the pen of songwriter Phil Headey. Emma Dudley fronts, supported by Jen Headey on bass, Dave Martin on drums and Thom Jenkins on guitar. A CD will be available for a generous donation.
Glass Ceiling - from West Sussex, this five-piece covers band was formerly performing as Tin Roof, but following a change in line-up have regrouped with a new sound and repertoire. Lead vocals and drums - Dave ‘Buster’ Lee . Guitar and vocals - Clive ‘Muddy’ Seabrooke. Bass and vocals - Rich Lee ‘Otis’. Guitar and vocals - Mars ‘Woody’ Haddow. Guitar, drums and vocals - Tim ‘Lefty’ Riches. Also featuring the Singing Soundman - Dr. Fi-Fi ‘Fingers’.
