LEWESLIVE on July 11 and 12 offers a two-day musical festival, previously known as Rock in the Bog.
Spokeswoman Clare Crouch said: “The Lewes weekend kicks off on Friday night at 7pm and has four bands booked with Headliners Four Fighters, a Foo Fighters tribute band with a passion to recreate the sound of the now-legendary Dave Grohl-fronted, American supergroup.
“Four Fighters can be found playing the most prestigious venues the length and breadth of the UK. Add to that regular multiple appearances at all of the biggest tribute festivals in the UK, Ireland, mainland Europe and South America and you could argue that this is the world’s ultimate Foo Fighters tribute band.
“Saturday sees seven bands on stage starting from 2pm. From local band Scott Free to the headline act for the weekend Hayseed Dixie there’s something for everyone – rock, reggae, ska, Americana and of course rockgrass.
“Hayseed Dixie are known for performing a mixture of cover versions of hard rock songs and original compositions in a style that is a unique fusion of bluegrass and rock music. They are acknowledged as the creators of the musical genre rockgrass.
“The group has played almost every major European folk and rock music festival, including a main stage appearance in 2005 at Glastonbury. Attesting to their cross-genre appeal, they are the only band ever to headline English festival stages at both Castle Donington Download Festival and the Cambridge Folk Festival. Their appearance at LEWESLIVE will be their only performance in the Sussex, Surrey and Kent area this summer, and is not to be missed.”
Clare added: “Previously likened to the early days of Glastonbury, LEWESLIVE aims to offer the same great quality and atmosphere as previous years, but to be the biggest and best yet. In addition to all the great music on offer there will be family attractions, food providers, licensed bars and free camping for all ticket holders.”
