Folk rockers mark 25 years at barn dance

Popular Sussex Folk Rock band Touchstone celebrate 25 years together this month.

The band were featured many times in the local and regional press, particularly in the 1990s when they released several albums of original songs about Sussex historical events.

Touchstone performed at numerous clubs and festivals and supported artists like Fairport Convention, Show of Hands and the Oyster Band.

Singer Bonnie Flitney and guitarist Mark Orchin also won the ‘best new artist award’ at the National folk festival in 1996.

The original line up will reform on June 28 to play their 23rd consecutive annual concert at Crawley Folk Festival at the Hawth Theatre at 4pm and then that evening for a popular Barn Dance at Wivelsfield Village Hall from 8pm.

Tickets for the barn dance can be obtained from 01444 471242 or 01444 471751 and cost £10, including a ploughman’s supper.

Profits to Wivelsfield Parish Church who have kindly organised this event.
