PETER Andre, Caroline Quentin, Ian Kelsey, Charlie Brooks, Sid Owen and Disney casting director Daniel Harding are among those lined up as tutors at The Pop School and Stage Academy, which is being launched in Brighton, Hove and Lewes this September.
Their mission is to create an elite group of young performers ready for the world of music and show business, says spokeswoman Antonia Phillips.
“Open to children and teenagers aged between eight and 18, the PSSA is a stage school with a difference. The qualified team of teachers have already trained hundreds of industry hopefuls all over the country and over the last ten years have seen many children make their way to professional drama schools in London and New York.
“As well as learning performance skills such as dancing, singing, drama, studio and recording techniques, they also get the chance to take part in master classes with celebrities to hear experiences and advice all the way from the top. If that wasn’t enough, then all PSSA students are automatically signed to a London-based agency for a chance to be put forward for TV and West End auditions.”
Laura Bird, co-founder of The Pop School and Stage Academy, added: “We are extremely excited to be opening a PSSA in Brighton, the only stage school of its kind in the area. We can’t wait to meet and work with the many local talented children and watch them grow. “With our unique approach to performance, dance and music training, plus professional industry trained teachers, we aim to inspire our youngsters to build in confidence and head for a future on stage or screen.”
The PSSA will be holding a free taster classes on September 8 and 23. Call 01273 605966 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to book.
