The Searchers at Preston Guild Hall Theatre, 16th March 2010

The Searchers, Congress Theatre, Wednesday 4 July, 7.30pm.

THE Searchers were one of the most influential groups to rise from the 60s phenomenon, and today they still lead the pack, headlining tours all over the world, collecting awards, and recruiting new fans from all age groups.

They have contributed enormously in establishing the UK as the world’s leading nation in the music industry. With classic hits such as Sweets For My Sweet, Needles and Pins, Don’t Throw Your Love Away and Sugar and Spice, The Searchers have proven to be one of Liverpool’s finest 60s bands, second only to The Beatles.

The band have enjoyed an incredible 128 weeks in the UK chart with 3 number one hits, and 6 top ten smashes. They have contributed enormously to the British music industry, with record sales well in excess of 30 million.

After five decades in the business, and a change of line up, the band are still full of enthusiasm and they look forward to many more years of their career, thus keeping their ever-growing band of loyal fans happy too!

Presenting an evening of famous hits and well known favourites, John McNally, Frank Allen, Spencer James and Scott Ottaway will also share anecdotes from the bands career as well as some original album recordings, B-sides and other collector and well-loved favourites.
