Concentus Chorale: Sing-a-long-a It’s the Abba Experience, Willingdon Community School, Broad Road, Lower Willingdon, Saturday, April 14, 7.30pm.
EASTBOURNE will soon be rocking to the show stopping sounds that burst into the UK charts in 1974 by the Swedish pop group ABBA.
Yes, Concentus Chorale will soon be having their Waterloo in bringing you their very own version of Mamma Mia – It’s The Abba Experience.
This is your opportunity to Sing-a-long-a-ABBA and recreate the energetic sounds in singing those famous songs such as, Voulez Vous, Thank You For The Music, Mamma Mia and SOS to name but a few.
However, unlike usual performances of this type there is a twist in that some soloists are supplied but the entire audience is Abba Itself. On arrival you will be supplied with a song sheet and following a few warm up exercises on the Fjords by the Bjorn again Songster, Adrian White, you will sing through a vast repertoire of ABBA music which includes the well known songs of Knowing Me Knowing you, Lay All You Love On Me, One Of Us, I Have A Dream, Chiquitta and more.
The reward for audience efforts towards the evening will be a ploughman’s supper complemented with a soft drink. Of course, if you wish for something a little stronger to lubricate the vocal chords then you are welcome to bring your own local tipple. Dressing up is enthusiastically encouraged (albeit optional), so if you’re a Super Trouper, Take A Chance On Me and do rummage in your cupboards for your old platform shoes, knee-high boots, sparkly cat suits, glittery shirts and loons, and that old guitar so that you can be your very own Dancing Queen and enter into the atmosphere of the evening because that’s The Name Of The Game.
In continuation of support to the local charity JPK Project and with Money, Money, Money you could win a Digital HD ready wide screen television, a DAB Digital Radio, a CD Hi-Fi system and many other prizes of value which will be raffled during the evening and of course The Winners Take It All.
Tickets cost just £10 and can be obtained from Evelyn Smith on 01323 643358 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org. Alternatively they can be purchased on the door (if available) but with tickets being so popular, previous events have sold out long before the night.
