Darcey Ridgway-Brown, a fourth-form pupil at Lancing College, has made it through to the regional final of the national TeenStar singing competition.
Darcey, 14, sings with a rock band at school and has performed in of school concerts.
At the regional final Darcey will perform Golden Days by Tony Norman, on stage at the at the Hove Centre on March 30. Golden Days was written especially for Darcey and celebrates the euphoria surrounding the 2012 Olympics. She sings this number, for which she holds the rights, on Tony Norman’s latest album, My Cool Sixties.
Prizes – at the national final – will include recording studio time and music development classes. The overall winner will receive £5,000 to spend on the development of their music.
