The Undercover Shadows are making an appearance at the Barn Theatre Seaford, performing hits from the world’s foremost instrumental band The Shadows, intermingled with songs from Cliff Richard.
They are a five piece band featuring three very experienced pro musicians who have accomplished almost 10,000 gigs between them.
Bass guitarist Lee Restarick said: “It’s an absolute pleasure to be playing these tunes on stage.
“I first learnt to play ‘Apache’ 39 years ago when I was just six, so this is almost a childhood dream for me, and the same goes for the rest of the guys.
“The other members of the band including myself have performed a varied genre of music over the years, but we all have a deep down respect and admiration for The Shadows”.
The band cover most of the well known ’60s hits such as Apache, Wonderful Land and Atlantis, as well as the later instrumental covers of ‘Don’t cry for me Argentina’, ‘Cavatina’ and Mark Knopfler’s ‘Going Home’.
The Shadows were fine songwriters creating many of Cliff Richard’s huge hits from the ’60s and supplying some amazing backing and vocal harmonies.
The Undercover Shadows aim to take you back and recreate these vocal hits including, ‘In the country’, ‘On the Beach’ and of course ‘Move It’, ‘Summer Holiday’ and ‘The Young Ones’.
The show would not be complete without the red Fender electric guitars and those iconic Shadows dance moves.
Band members include, Adam Knight on Lead Guitar, Russell Neal on Rhythm Guitar, Lee Restarick on Bass Guitar, Dave Garner on Keyboards and Mark Winter on Drums.
