Seaford Choral Society’s spring concert was well received by an appreciative audience.

Spokesman Peter Woodman said: “Making her first appearance with the Society was Susanna Fairbairn, a wonderful young soprano who has already given concerts at Carnegie Hall, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Wigmore Hall and The Royal Opera House Covent Garden.

“A retiring collection in support of St. Wilfrid’s Hospice raised £447.50.

“The society’s next concert in St Leonard’s Church, Seaford will be on November 30. They will perform Vesperae Solennes de Confessore and the Coronation Mass by Mozart, together with For St. Cecelia by Gerald Finzi.

“The Society’s annual general meeting will be held in St Leonard’s Church Hall, Seaford on Monday, July 29 at 7pm. The Society is actively seeking basses and tenors to join this very friendly group. No audition is required.”
