New Sussex Singers, St Wilfrid’s Church, Church Road, Haywards Heath, Saturday, June 30, 6pm.

NEW Sussex Singers are delighted to be joined by the choir of Wallands Primary School, Lewes for their concert, On Stage, featuring favourites from West End musicals, past and present.

The programme includes songs from hit shows including Matilda, Les Misérables, West Side Story, Oklahoma! and Sweeney Todd.

Spokeswoman Sophie Horne said: “The ensemble is a well-established chamber choir of twenty-two voices based in Sussex, and enjoy a wide variety of musical styles. Their most recent performance (Feldman’s Rothko Chapel), provided the finale for the contemporary music festival, The Musician’s Body, held in Brighton last month.

“Lee Reynolds, Music Director, is a respected, professional musician from Lewes, well known for his diverse and enjoyable concert programming. He is also director of the Kantanti Ensemble and Lewes Operatic Society, and succeeded Gareth Malone as music director of the London Symphony Orchestra Youth Choir, and was appointed Music Director of the Glyndebourne Youth Company in 2011.

“We can promise that our varied programme has something for everyone. We hope many of you will come along with friends to share our enthusiasm for music and song.”
