Directed by Ellen Kent, this brand new production of La Bohème by Opera & Ballet International will be staged at The Congress Theatre in Eastbourne on Tuesday, February 4 (7.30pm).
It will feature the celebrated Chisinau National Opera and Philharmonic Orchestra with international soloists and is being traditionally staged with wonderful lavish sets and costumes.
La Bohème is one of the most romantic operas ever written.
It tells the very tragic tale of the doomed, consumptive Mimi and her love for a penniless writer.
The set reflects the Bohemian art of the period and will include a colourful carnival scene, gypsy dancers, a local brass band and real snow effects.
Muzetta’s dog will also make an entrance.
This classic tale of Parisian love and loss features many famous arias including ‘Your Tiny Hand is Frozen’, ‘They Call Me Mimi’ and ‘Muzetta’s Waltz’. It is sung in Italian with English subtitles.
