Carnaby Street is a stunning new musical, set against the backdrop of London’s West End in the sixties.
Its iconic clubs, trendy fashions and eccentric characters, set the scene for a time full of hope and freedom, when the world was changing and anything seemed possible.
Written by Carl Leighton-Pope, directed by Bob Tomson (Blood Brothers and Dreamboats & Petticoats) and designed by Matthew Wright (Evita, La Cage Aux Folles), Carnaby Street tells the story of Jude, a working class boy from Liverpool, new in town and armed with nothing but his guitar and his dreams of fame and fortune.
This fabulous production - jam packed with over 30 classic hits from the time, including Roll Over Beethoven, Do Wah Diddy Diddy, Sweets for my Sweet, Twist and Shout, Keep on Running and many, many more, follows the passion and heartbreak of his journey in pursuit of stardom.
Carnaby Street tells the story of every boy or girl’s dream – to become a rock star.
The show runs until Saturday October 19.
