Everything goes haywire in Ringmer

A hilarious play by Eric Chappell, the writer of Rising Damp, is at Ringmer Village Hall until March 21.

Haywire, performed by Ringmer Dramatic Society, takes place at 7.45pm each evening.

Bookseller Alec Firth is having an affair with his assistant Liz and has craftily organised his domestic life so they can go on holiday without making his wife suspicious. What could possibly go wrong? The answer is ‘plenty’, as their attempts are thwarted by a series of knocks at the door.

Tickets cost £8 or £7.50 for groups of ten or more.

The cast includes: John Walker as Alec (bookshop owner), Angela Howard as Maggie (his wife), Angela Morrison as Liz (Alec’s assistant), Rita Carver as Phoebe (Alec’s mother), Rhys Watson as Jamie (Alec and Maggie’s son) and Alice Cooke as Mandy (Alec and Maggie’s daughter).
