Interview concert with a Russian flavour

Pianist Olga Paliy offers an interview concert on Friday, October 25, at 6.45pm in The Denton Lounge on Worthing Pier.

Olga was the Ukrainian winner of the Audience Prize while taking third place in the second Sussex Piano Competition in April this year. She will be in conversation with Timothy J Chick during this second of an innovative sequence of presentation evenings by the Worthing Symphony Society in support of the WSO.

This interview concert has a distinctive Russian flavour. Russian poetry will be read.

The programme is: Mikhail Glinka – Variations on a Russian song Among the Gentle Valleys; Mikhail Glinka – Mily Balakirev: The Lark’ Sergei Rachmaninov – Etudes Tableaux Opus 33 (No 6 in C minor, and No 5 in G minor) and Opus 39 (No 1 in C minor); Viktor Kosenko – Gavotte in B minor (allegro moderato) and Courante in E minor (vivace) from the cycle 11 Etudes in the Form of an Old Dance2; Robert Schumann – Davidsbündler Dances Opus 6; and Alberto Ginastera – Argentinian Dances of The Old Herdsman, The Beautiful Maiden and The Arrogant Cowboy.
