Island life under German rule

Gabriel by Moira Buffini will be performed by Bryteye Productions at All Saints Arts Centre, Lewes, between August 13 and 18 at 7.45pm.

SET in Nazi-occupied Guernsey in 1943, the island has been suffering for three years under the jackboot of German rule.

The play follows a quartet of women from three generations, trapped in a struggle to justify saving the life of an unknown naked man found on a beach near their house.

He could be a British pilot, a local bank clerk or one of Hitler’s brightest SS officers en route to a concentration camp on Alderney. It’s a tense thriller crammed full of twists & turns, humour and unexpected surprises.

This play won both the UK’s prestigious London Weekend Television ‘Plays on Stage’ award and the ‘Meyer Whitworth Award’.
