Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Lucy Ward is coming to Eastbourne on Saturday, May 9.
The, Derbyshire-based, BBC Folk Award winner will be taking a break from the recording studio where she is laying down tracks for her highly anticipated third album, to bring her ‘Return to Roots’ tour to St Luke’s Centre, Rattle Road.
Lucy’s previous album, Single Flame, garnered her a nomination for BBC Folk Singer of the Year in 2014 and was voted number two in Mojo Magazine’s Folk Albums of the year 2013.
On the new album listeners will get to hear Lucy in a more mellow mood than the one she was in with Single Flame.
As always, it’s the lyrics, the stories within her songs, which remain Lucy’s major focus. Her new songs are subtle comments on the small significant moments that change lives forever.
Lucy Ward has one of the most distinctive voices on the UK folk scene and possesses the ability to project the emotional content in the songs and draw audiences, head first, into the stories she is telling.
Tickets cost £10.
