Popular soprano to talk about life

The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Sussex will welcome its vice president Cynthia Morey as its speaker on Sunday, April 14 at 2.45pm at Haywards Heath’s Birch Hotel,

Spokesman William Colbourne said: “Popular soprano Cynthia no longer sings in public, but will be talking about her life and career, embracing the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company, Sadlers Wells Opera, and, right up to date, her experience of being directed by Dustin Hoffman in the film ‘Quartet.

“Cynthia is a vivacious and amusing speaker, and entertainment is guaranteed. Entitled From D’Oyly Carte to Dustin Hoffman, her talk is open to everyone.”

Tickets to include interval refreshments are priced at £4.50 for members and £9.50 for non-members, and can be obtained from Edwin Cowley, 37 Hill House Close, Turners Hill, Crawley RH10 4YY.
