Members of Wivelsfield Little Theatre are getting ready to perform ’Allo ’Allo as part of their 50th anniversary year.

This comedy, based on the hugely popular TV series by Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft, is set in war-torn occupied France and follows the antics of the café owner René and his wife Edith, as they struggle to retain for themselves a priceless painting, stolen by the Germans, which they are keeping in the cellar.

Members of the Resistance are endeavouring to repatriate British airmen being hidden by René and plan to kidnap Hitler when he makes an unexpected visit to the café.

All this is too much for René who decides to flee the country, only to be thwarted by an incompetent British spy and circumstances beyond his control.

How does René manage to save his café and his life?

British sitcom lovers are invited to find out any evening between Wednesday, November 19, and Saturday, November 22, at Wivelsfield Village Hall at 7.30pm.

The bar will be open at 7pm.

Tickets cost £8 and are available through the box office on 01444 471751.
