Theatre club explores Anne Frank’s diary

Lewes Theatre Club is performing The Diary of Anne Frank from Saturday, November 29, to Saturday, December 6.

The play, by Albert Hackett and Frances Goodrich, is based on Anne’s Frank’s real life diary, which she kept while hiding in an annexe to a building in occupied Holland during the Second World War.

Anne, one of the most well-known victims of the Holocaust, and seven other people spent two years hiding in a few small rooms in an attempt to evade the Nazis.

After Anne’s death was confirmed, her father Otto was given the diary and decided to get it published.
