Eight young ballet dancers’ dreams have come true.

The kids, from Hassocks, Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill, were selected to appear in a comical adaptation of Coppélia during an audition of more than 200 young hopefuls.

The show takes place at the Hawth Theatre in Crawley for three performances on October 24 and 25 with English Youth Ballet (EYB).

All the young dancers in the cast will dance alongside EYB’s stunning international principal artists in a professional production, which will give them an insight into what life is like as a professional ballet dancer.

The young cast have been engaged with the EYB’s principal dancers in rehearsals at Reigate School. EYB is a professional ballet company and each rehearsal day commences with the company being split into three groups for company ballet class warm ups. The rehearsal day continues with a complex timetable of different rehearsals running simultaneously in three studios at the school.

From left to right, the picture shows Phoebe Moses, Sophie Urion, Lydia Stewart-Parsons and Anee-Elizabeth Garry (front line) with Isaac Mack, Elsie Brooks, Lucy Gent and Emma Mackay (back line).
