This year’s Summer Fayre is bigger than ever; St John’s Park will be buzzing with excitement on Sunday 23 June when the event returns for 2024.

Following the theme, ‘Love Sussex’, the event will celebrate the countryside, heritage and community right on our doorstep. With over 80 charities, community groups and local creatives attending, there will be something for everyone to enjoy at the event, this year.

Our new ‘Eco-Zone’ will feature many charities and groups dedicated to making the world a better place to live. Sussex Green Living will be bringing their eco-float and woodland lorry, with lots of exciting activities for children and families. From planting activities to recycled games, the team have a whole range of things to do on the day! You can join them throughout the day for talks on GYO gardening and the wellbeing benefits of connecting with nature. You can bring your personal hygiene and household cleaning bottles and buy some fabulous eco-friendly refills from their zero-waste shop too.

Learn all about the birds and watch them in action at one of their flying displays throughout the day.

For children, there will be inflatables, fairground games and DJ workshops. Burgess Hill Creative Community will be running drop-in crafts throughout the day too. You can even meet Zelva the Giant Tortoise, an amazing animatronic run by award-winning street-theatre performers ‘The Flying Buttresses’.

Does that sound like enough? Well, there’s more! The event will be opened for a second year in a row by the Summer Fayre parade. Marvel at the amazing work by local primary schools, who have been working with local community arts charity, Same Sky, to create some amazing props for the parade.
