Hastings Young Writers invites writers of all genres and skill levels to explore a wide range of writing forms in a fun and creative environment. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and develop techniques and skills in storytelling, plotting, character development, songwriting, nonsense rhymes, oulipo, poetry, non-fiction, flash fiction, journalism, jokes, comic creation, murder mysteries, scriptwriting, performance, and much, much more, always with an ethos of exploration, supportiveness and general hilarity.
With regular workshops, guest speakers and site-specific sessions including beach storytelling, people-watching, and performance evenings, each meeting offers something unique.

Hide Ad“We’re excited to facilitate this writing group and provide a platform for young writers to explore their writing passions and develop their skills as storytellers,” says Liz Caluori, founder of the group, which has been running since 2018. “Whether you’re interested in writing a suspense thriller, crafting a heartfelt poem, or just want to experiment with creative ideas and have a lot of fun doing it, there’s something here for everyone.”
Hastings Young Writers is a vibrant community of storytellers where imagination knows no bounds. The group meets every second Monday at the White Rock Hotel and is run by local old writers Liz Caluori and Paul Coomey.
Hastings Young Writers will be running a Sea Story Scavenger Hunt as part of the We Are A Sea fringe event at Bottle Alley on Saturday 28th September – for details go to weareasea.net/
