Newick Food Fair, started back in 2016 and is a small friendly annual event aiming to support local growers and producers. We are a community based organisation run by two foodie loving volunteers, Alex Harrison, who originally studied agriculture at Plumpton and Jenny Smerdon who was a home economics teacher.

We are supported by several other organisations and people in the village without whom this event could not happen. Newick Food Fair raises money for St Peter & St James Hospice along with other local charities. This year we were proud to donate £1500 to Newick Primary School, which has gone toward buying the school an amazing greenhouse.

This year we have more stalls than ever including a new local small batch brewery run by a Pearly Queen! Our list of stalls covers just about everything, and something for everyone (we hope!) from Vegan to Biltong and everything in between.

A lovely variety of Sussex beverages including Gin, Vermouth, Wines, Beers and Cider.

This year we have also invited The Travelling Future Road Show to inspire, inform and entertain on issues relating to climate change action.

Daphne Lambert from Greencuisine Trust will give practical demonstrations using local, seasonal foods to show how we can all gain optimum nutrition, health and well-being while protecting our natural resources.

Keith from Moving Sounds will entertain with games, prizes, music and stories. There will be fun for all ages and you will leave feeling inspired!

Ovesco Energy Champions will be on hand to give you advice on sustainable solutions for your home that will save you energy and keep you warm!

There’s lots to learn and fun to be had - so come along and join in! June 30, 11am to 4pm.
