Open day to be held at Wish Tower in Eastbourne
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
On Friday, October 18, the Wish Tower will be free to visit for visitors between the hours of 1pm to 4pm.

Hide AdThe tower is usually open only for special events and occasional tours with Friday’s open day being one of those events.
During Heritage Open Days, the iconic tower was open to the public from Saturday, September 7 to September 15.
The Wish Tower is a Napoleonic Martello Tower and is one of few, in original condition, that is ever open to visit.

Hide AdA total of 103 Martello towers were built in England, along the coast from Aldeburgh, and from Kent to Seaford.
Other Martello Towers in the town, numbers 64 and 66, have had proposals submitted to change them into holiday homes and add a rooftop structure to each.
The proposals also include the ‘retention and repair or reinstatement’ of the towers’ ‘main historic features’.
