The Art Of Life is the latest exhibition at Star Brewery Gallery, Lewes, running from September 7-22 (Tuesday-Friday, 11am-4pm; Saturday-Sunday 10.30am-5pm; closed Monday).

Neeta Pedersen, who runs the gallery and is also exhibiting, said: “Lewes’s Star Brewery Gallery is happy to be staging for the Artwave Festival the group exhibition The Art of Life. The Art of Life is a diverse and exciting exhibition by a wide array of artists. The theme this year has allowed us to curate a show consisting of a broad range of styles and subject matters, featuring examples of figurative, abstract, urban, portrait and landscape works across a variety of different mediums including sculptures, paintings and drawings.

“As an independently-owned gallery, the Star Brewery Gallery is happy to once again be part of presenting a range of artists throughout the Artwave Festival and is looking forward to showcasing these talented artists and their works with the local community and Artwave visitors.

“Our fourth annual Artwave exhibition is also pleased to welcome new artists to the gallery, who will be sharing their works with us for the first time: Susie Monnington, Melissa Shatto, Yvonne Coughlan, Philippa Futrell, David Fowler and Susie Hartley.

Neeta conceived the exhibition working with environmental journalist John May: “The varied works by a range of artists, when shown together, will represent many forms of life in nature and humanity expressed through paintings and sculptures.

“This exhibition naturally follows on from our three highly successful group shows for Artwave: The Tree Show in 2021, The River Show in 2022 and The Biodiversity Show in 2023 all of which attracted a substantial and enthusiastic audience of adults and children.”
