Between the Blue and Green Film Festival runs in Worthing town centre from September 7-14.

Spokeswoman Em Davis said: “In a world where it’s all too easy to get lost in the solitary, endless scroll of social media, the Between the Blue and Green Film Festival offers a refreshing opportunity to trade one screen for another – this time filled with inspiration, originality, and communal connection. Running from September 7-14, the festival invites the community to step away from their smartphones and tablets and dive into a week of meaningful experiences centred on well-being and sustainability.”

“At the heart of the festival are two film events for adults. At Connaught Cinema, the Short Film Screening features a diverse selection of short stories that entertain, uplift, and inspire reflection, with winners from the UK and local community as well as from the USA, Italy, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands.

"The winner of our Documentary Screening is a powerful film in three parts focusing on Cornwall’s Climate Stories, revealing the urgent threats climate change poses to Cornwall’s marine life, fishing industry and coastline. It also highlights the resilience of local communities, their innovative solutions, and the deep connection to the environment that binds them together. The screening held at Audio Active will be followed by a Q&A with Claire Wallerstein, the film's producer. These screenings are not just about watching films. They offer a chance to connect over drinks and chat before and after the events, where attendees can explore their passions for well-being, sustainability, and creativity. In addition to the film events, the Between the Blue and Green Film Festival features interactive activities designed to engage all ages.”

Coming up is: a screen printing workshop (in collaboration with Hello DODO), a chance to transform old garments into new favourites with custom designs, blending sustainability with creativity; and a silent disco, a family-friendly daytime dance experience that helps you and your loved one’s de-stress, feel good, and improve your fitness.

“Between the Blue and Green is a week-long film festival in Worthing focusing on the important topics of sustainability and well-being The festival title reflects the focus of protecting our environment.”
