WORKSHOP: PTA advice in Durrington

A FREE workshop to give members of school parent teacher associations (PTAs) fund-raising ideas will take place in Durrington.

The workshop, being run by the National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations (NCPTA), will be held at Hawthorns First School, Poplar Road, from 7pm to 9pm on Wednesday, February 11.

Topics covered will include fund-raising ideas, hints and tips on how to run successful events, how to involve more parents, staff and get support from the local business community, legal issues, such as health and safety and CRB checks for parent volunteers, and how to raise money without holding an event.
