STEYNING’S own chamber choir, Kaleidoscope Singers, conducted by Zoe Peate, have won prizes for the second year running, competing in three classes at the Mid Somerset Music Festival in Bath on 24 March. They brought home a first prixe for the mixed choir category and gained third places in two additional classes.

Despite competing against two very good award-winning choirs, the choir managed to gain a Distinction in the folk song class, and was also awarded a prestigious cash prize for the most promising choir at the festival. Zoe Peate said: “It was a great day. The choir performed at its best, in the splendour of the Banqueting Room of the Guildhall, captivating a large audience. We all learned a lot from the other choirs and the adjudicator’s comments and now looking forward to our next concert on 14 July at St Andrew’s Church.’’

Auditions are being held for tenor and baritione vacancies. Anyone inerested in giving the choir a try on Thursday evenings, should call Zoe on 01903 812662.
