Band’s charity gig

Hit Seventies band Chicory Tip gave a crowd at Burgess Hill full value at a charity gig.

The band played a set of well known songs from 8pm to 11.15 pm, taking a half hour break at the Martlets Hall.

The group, whose biggest hit was 1972’s million seller Son of My Father, was named after chicory in a coffee bottle. It was making a return trip to help raise money for Burgess Hill Youth Club, based near Western Road, Burgess Hill.

The dance, held on Saturday night, was organised by Burgess Hill District Lions to and raised a total of £1,727.

The gig was sponsored by Steve Willis Training.
