WELL, Dick Lancaster has done it again organising the annual holiday to Middlesbrough commencing on Easter Monday in temperamental weather.

However although chilly the members rarely got wet on the many visits made during the nine day holiday and the sun did shine on most days.

Visits included the Hartlepool Maritime Experience featuring H.M.S. Trincomalee and the sights and sounds of an 18th century seaport; Durham with its cathedral, Scarborough, and Eden Camp which transports you down memory lane to wartime Britain.

A day trip to Alnwick Castle was finished with a trip on the local transporter bridge; Bowes Museum with its collection of furniture, paintings, ceramics and including the very old Silver Swan automation followed by a lovely scenic return journey over the Moors. Other reminiscences were at the James Herriot (All Creatures Great and Small) Museum, and visits to Nunnington Hall, Captain Cook Museum and Ormsby House.

The weather was really sunny for our trip to Pickering via Goathland (Heartbeat country) to pick up the train on the North Yorks. Railway to Gosmont and then on to Whitby.

Tuesday the final day home came via the Humber Bridge and into Lincolnshire. Dick said: "I think the general consensus was that the hotel, food, service and holiday was excellent."
