Choir feature
strongly in festival

Bexhill Choral Society are working very hard with their Director of Music, Kenneth Roberts, preparing for their concert of Great Choral Classics at the De La Warr Pavilion on Saturday, 14th June at 7.30pm.

They will be accompanied by the Sussex Concert Orchestra.

With a wide variety of musical styles in such a programme, Kenneth Roberts transforms BCS from an English choir singing works by Parry, Stanford and Holst, into an opera chorus for Verdi’s “Anvil Chorus”, “Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves”, and Wagner’s “Bridal Chorus”. A ‘taster’ of BCS’s autumn Mozart concert is included, with two excerpts from his “ Requiem”.

The choir is joined by soprano soloist, Claire Williamson for “Let the Bright Seraphim”, and Claire accompanies the choir in “Panis Angelicus” and American Spirituals in a new, lively arrangement by Kenneth Roberts.
