Choir goes on line

Battle Choral Society are joining many other societies and clubs by selling tickets on line for their next and hopefully subsequent concerts as from October15th. The concert takes place on Saturday November 30th at Christ church, Silchester Road st. Leonard’s commencing at 7.30 pm.

The music to be performed in November is a complete contrast to the mighty B Minor Mass which the choir sang in May. This time we are performing the popular Gloria by Vivaldi and the Messe Solennelle, a lesser known work by Rossini. This is very different from other Masses of the same period, being nowhere near as ‘opulent’, but as with many Rossini compositions, it is full of lovely melodies and in places it almost dances.

Tickets online can be bought through the choir website www.battlechoral.co.uk and then follow the links. The cost of tickets is £15 but if bought on line, there is a small booking fee, as with any online booking. However, tickets are also available in the usual way from Raggs Boutique, 20 High Street Battle, and Little Larder, 39 Norman Road, St. Leonard’s.
