Christmas thoughts

LET us turn our thoughts this Christmastideto those less fortunate in the harsh world outside. The homeless, who in dark doorways lie, those in despair and pain who wish to die.Children across the world, longing for warmth and love, countless refugees, their only roof the sky above.

Are we, secure, well fed, with ample warmth and light,

oblivious to those out there,

for whom it is perpetual night?

Grant us compassion to help those in need,

that they from misery and pain will soon be freed.

And if tonight you offer up a prayer,

then may it be that Christ will be amongst them there.

May all oppressors from their warlike course refrain

and let Man live in peace and love again.
