FILM: Raiders of the Lost Ark – the IMAX Experience (PG)

Indiana Jones’s gung-ho 1981 adventure returns to the big screen for one week only in a digitally remastered print, which takes full advantage of the gargantuan Imax format.

Following an ill-fated expedition to Peru to recover a golden idol, which is stolen by rival archaeologist Rene Belloq (Paul Freeman), Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) learns that the Nazis are searching for the fabled Staff of Ra, which is believed to be in the possession of Indiana’s old mentor, Abner Ravenwood.

If the Germans steal the staff, it could lead them to the Well Of Souls - the secret burial chamber of the Ark Of The Covenant, which contains fragments of the Ten Commandments.

So Indiana heads to Nepal and then to Cairo in the company of old flame Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) and good friend Sallah (John Rhys-Davies) in order to prevent Nazi Colonel Dietrich (Wolf Kahler) and interrogator Major Arnold Toht (Ronald Lacey) from opening the Ark and unleashing the powerful spirits.
