FILM: The Skin I Live In (La Piel que Habito) (15)

Director Pedro Almodovar reunites with actor Antonio Banderas for the first time in 21 years for this thriller based on the book Tarantula by Thierry Jonquet.

Brilliant plastic surgeon Robert Ledgard (Banderas) is haunted by the death of his wife in a fire and he works night and day to develop an artificial skin that can withstand potentially fatal situations.

Aided by housekeeper Marilia (Marisa Paredes), Robert holds a young woman called Vera Cruz (Elena Anaya) hostage in his home, using her as a human guinea pig for grafts of his experimental skin.

Over time, Robert begins to fall hopelessly in love with Vera and he lets his guard down, believing she feels the same for him.
