Glimpses of paradise at evening of short film

Hastings film-makers Mark French and Toby Tatum present an evening of short films on the theme of paradise at the Coastal Currents Pop-Up Cinema, by the Swan Boating Lake, tonight (Friday, 7.30pm).

While searching for films for a short film programme called Paradise Found (taking place at The Electric Palace Cinema on December 1) the curators found themselves inundated with films, from all over the world.

They have been invited by Coastal Currents to screen a selection of them at this extra-special preview event.

The films featuring in Pop-Up Paradise all conjure visions of paradise, transporting us to a kaleidoscopic variety of lost Edens. The show reflects on the ways these improbable paradises might be visited; through dreams, altered perceptions or drug induced fantasies.

Pop-Up Paradise is an opportunity to see works by some of the world’s most interesting film-makers, from underground mavericks to celebrated masters. The screening is free to all, although seating is limited.
